ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I had the opportunity to visit Death Valley with Michael Gordon (a renowned Death Valley photographer) and Stuart Levine (a personal mentor) just before Covid lock down, in February of 2020. While I consider myself a water/ocean person above all else, I have always had a sense of complete serenity when in the desert. Death Valley's grandness made that serenity even more acute.
The breathtaking expanse inspired a sense of creativity and playfulness in my post-production work. The extraordinary colors and mesmerizing light of this desert region encouraged me to experiment with my photography, resulting in a collection of images that reflects the magic I witnessed during my visit.
These prints work particularly well as a collection. I have hung a series of 7 in multiple locations and they have always paired particularly well.
